I personally do not trust the internet for online Poker.... why... i'll tell you why...
I believe that playing poker online is one of the worst ways to learn poker, everyone is playing online, getting sucked into taking their credit cards out and sitting for hours clicking their mouses- not realising how much money they are spending, hitting rediculous amounts of bad beats on sit and gos or playing cash games (i'm talkin big cash games here) which tend to be just way too dodgy- with the amount of ways people can collude online (using messenger or simply using a shared university ip address) i just think these random number generators (audited by an independant commission -oh yeah... right....) or in other words a mathematical system of hands designed to get people to go all-in as quick as possible on the flop, so you can sit back down again on another sit and go and pay the 10 percent rake.
This is how internet poker sites make their money- getting you, the first time poker player to play as many times as possible, so your constantly being raked 10% on every game.
Exactly how many times have you played pocket kings and got beat by ace rag.. wtf, what a pile of fookin........????
Internet Poker is designed to get you to play like an asshole, simple as. There is no sitting in a proper card room, with real people, learning to play the game with older more experienced poker players with a set budget for a nights entertainment. The time you have to act on the internet is so little, that on a big hand- with a lot of chips, you cannot get a read on your opponent and are pressurised to try and remember who acted first and who re-raised who.
Live Poker is the answer... going to a real Poker Club or playing with friends.
This is the only way to learn the game, to realise what it is all about, and become a better player.
